Fatality reported in crash at S Belt Line and Hunter Ferrell in Irving

IRVING, TX – Emergency crews responded to a fatal accident Sunday afternoon at a busy intersection in the southwestern outskirts of Irving, reports DFW Scanner.

The incident happened sometime before 4:05 p.m. at the intersection of South Belt Line Road and Hunter Ferrell Road, which is just north of Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie.

Police haven’t shared any details about the crash except to say that at least one person died. They’ve not yet identified the victim(s).

Officials encouraged drivers to avoid the area, and all southbound lanes of Belt Line Road were blocked while crews worked at the scene.

A full investigation is underway. Our team of news bloggers will post updates if and when we learn more about additional injuries, the cause of the accident, or the number of vehicles involved.
