Police share updates on Johnson Co. crash along Hwy 67 that killed 6
JOHNSON CO., TX – Police have released additional information regarding a crash that killed six people and injured three others near Bono on Tuesday.
The investigation indicates that the 17-year-old driver of a southbound pickup truck attempted to pass another southbound vehicle by entering the northbound lane of Highway 67. The pickup truck then collided head-on with a minivan.
The collision killed six of seven occupants from the minivan. Authorities say the victims include two kids and four adults. They’ve not yet released the names of the victims.
Both the teen driver of the pickup truck and a teen passenger sustained critical injuries for which they were taken by air ambulance to the hospital.
The investigation is ongoing.
