Driver found, charged in fatal hit-and-run on FM 1182 near Ennis
ELLIS CO., TX – A 36-year-old male pedestrian died last Thursday after a hit-and-run vehicle struck him along a rural roadway in east Ellis County, reports DFW Scanner.
The incident happened around 6:46 p.m. on northbound FM 1182, which is east of Ennis and north of Rice in the southeast suburbs of Dallas.
Police say that 36-year-old Alonzo Burrows Jr. was walking northbound on FM 1182 when a silver 2006 Toyota Sienna struck and killed him.
The driver of the Toyota, who has since been identified as 26-year-old Sandra Maritza Molina, fled the scene of the accident.
After receiving numerous tips, authorities located and arrested Molina early this week. Molina faces a second-degree felony charge for failure to stop and render aid in an accident that resulted in death.
The investigation is ongoing.
