Crash on I-635NB near Oates Dr in Mesquite blocks traffic

MESQUITE, TX – An afternoon collision along the interstate in Mesquite delayed traffic Friday as crews responded to the scene, reports KRLD Traffic.

The incident happened around 3:40 p.m. on the northbound side of I-635 near Oates Drive, which is just west of Baseball Nation – North Ballpark.

Police haven’t released any detail regarding injuries, nor have they commented on what might have caused the crash.

Video footage taken at the scene suggests that the accident may have involved an SUV and a sedan. The two vehicles appear to have crashed at an angle.

Officials cautioned drivers of delays along I-635 northbound in the area of the crash while teams assisted the victims and worked to clear the wreckage.

A full investigation is underway.
