Police report fatality in crash on I-30WB near Oakland Blvd

FORT WORTH, TX – Police have released additional details regarding a crash that closed a portion of the interstate in Fort Worth early Friday morning.

According to CBS News, the incident happened sometime after 6 a.m. on the westbound side of I-30 near Oakland Boulevard. This is just southwest of Nolan Catholic High School.

Police say the victim fled authorities after attempting to break into two different businesses in the 1200 block of Oakland Boulevard. The man ultimately ran into traffic on the interstate where he was struck and killed by a pickup truck.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim.

The driver of the pickup truck stopped to render aid and speak with officials at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
