Vehicle strikes, kills pedestrian at West Freeway EB and Las Vegas Trail

FORT WORTH, TX – A pedestrian died early Wednesday when a vehicle struck them along the freeway in western Fort Worth, reports WFAA News 8.

The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. on the eastbound side of the West Freeway at Las Vegas Trail, which is east of I-820 and west of TX-183.

Police say that the victim may have run into oncoming traffic when an eastbound vehicle hit him. The pedestrian died at the scene of the accident, and the driver involved did not stay to render aid and speak with officials.

Authorities have not yet identified the victim, and there’s no word yet regarding a suspect.

Officials closed the freeway for multiple hours while crews worked to investigate and clear the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
