Truck hits, fatally injures 43-year-old pedestrian at Tyler bus stop

TYLER, TX – A 43-year-old woman died Tuesday after a vehicle struck her at a bus stop in a Tyler shopping center, reports CBS 19.

The incident happened around 3:20 p.m. at the French Quarter Shopping Center, which is just east of US-69, or South Broadway Avenue and south of TX-323.

Police say that a northbound truck left Broadway Avenue and struck the victim at the bus stop.

Medics transported the pedestrian, identified as Sandra Abrego, to the hospital, where she died from injuries sustained in the accident.

It’s not yet clear if the driver of the truck involved in the wreck remained at the scene to render aid and speak to authorities.

A full investigation is underway.
