Pedestrian hit by Dallas PD officer at Elam and Cedarcliff after running into road

DALLAS, TX – A female pedestrian was hurt Monday evening after a police cruiser struck her along a busy roadway in the Elam area of southeast Dallas, reports DFW Scanner.

The accident happened at 7:07 p.m. just north of Crawford Memorial Park at the intersection of Elam Road and Cedarcliff Drive.

Police say the woman ran in front of oncoming traffic just before the cruiser hit her.

Medics transported the woman to an area hospital with critical injuries.

The officer involved in the crash stopped to render aid and wait for emergency teams to arrive.
