Shye Brown, 20, fatally injured in multi-car crash on Loop 410

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A 20-year-old woman sustained fatal injuries Friday in a multi-vehicle crash caused by a reckless driver in northeast San Antonio, reports KSAT News 12. 

The collision occurred around 3:30 p.m. on the westbound side of I-410 near Austin Highway, which is just west of I-35 near the Sun Gate neighborhood.

Police say that the driver of a westbound Jeep Grand Cherokee was likely speeding and driving recklessly when he rear-ended a Dodge pickup truck. This initial accident caused the Jeep to rotate and hit two other vehicles.

Medics transported a passenger from the Jeep to an area hospital, where she soon died from injuries sustained in the wreck. Authorities identified the victim as Shye Brown.

Two additional adults sustained injuries in the crash and required hospitalization. They are expected to recover from their injuries.

Police say the driver of the Jeep could faces charges.
