Alexander Romero, 16, and 2 other teens killed in Harris Co. crash
SPRING, TX – Three adolescent boys died earlier this month when a police chase ended in a major crash in the northwest suburbs of Houston, reports Fox 26 Houston.
The incident occurred on Thursday, January 2nd, at a sharp curve in the roadway where Sorrell Ridge Drive becomes Rolling Terrace Drive in the city of Spring.
The investigation indicates that police were pursuing a stolen SUV carrying six teens, three of whom have since been identified as Alexander Romero, 16, Jose Cruz, 14, and Christopher Granados, 14.
Romero, the driver, was travelling at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the SUV, left the roadway, and crashed into a tree.
Romero, Cruz, and Granados died at the scene. Authorities have not named the other three teens in the SUV, nor have they specified the extent of their injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
