Jerrison Moore, 39, claimed in bike crash on I-20 in Coahoma

COAHOMA, TX – A 39-year-old man sustained fatal injuries Saturday night when a vehicle struck his bicycle on the west side of Coahoma, reports First Alert 7.

The incident happened shortly after 11:30 p.m. on the westbound service road for I-20, just north of Swinney Street. Coahoma is about 52 miles northeast of Midland.

Police say that the victim was not wearing a safety helmet when a Ford sedan hit the rear of his bicycle.

The cyclist, identified as Jerrison Moore, died after transport to a Big Spring hospital.

It’s unclear if the driver of the Ford will face charges. Authorities say the victim was wearing dark clothing and travelling at night without safety lights on his bicycle.

A full investigation is underway.
