Matthew Taing, 22, fatally injured in semi crash on US-290
WASHINGTON CO., TX – One person died Friday in a two-vehicle collision involving an 18-wheeler along the highway near Brenham, reports Fox 44.
Emergency teams responded to the intersection of US-290 and Berlin Road around 6 a.m. This is in the Berlin neighborhood, just west of the city.
Police say that a westbound 1998 Freightliner struck a 2019 Toyota Camry when the driver of the latter vehicle attempted a left turn from southbound Berlin onto eastbound 290.
The driver of the Camry, identified as 22-year-old Matthew Taing, died at the scene of the wreck.
No other injuries have been noted in connection to the crash, and authorities haven’t announced any pending charges.
A full investigation is underway.
