Charlotte Nicholas killed in crash with alleged DUI driver

BEAUMONT, TX – A 78-year-old woman sustained fatal injuries Saturday night in a two-vehicle collision caused by an alleged drunk driver in Beaumont, reports Fox 4 Beaumont.

The accident happened shortly before midnight on Major Drive between Westfield Avenue and Village Drive. This in on the northwest side of the city, just south of Beaumont Urgent Care.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was pulling on to Major Drive from her apartment complex, Providence on Major, when a vehicle driven by 28-year-old Ky Kollin Walker struck her vehicle.

Medics transported the victim, since identified as Charlotte Nicholas, to an area hospital. Nicholas died not long after transport.

Police arrested Walker on a charge of Intoxication Manslaughter with a Vehicle.

A full investigation is underway.
