Brandon Ruiz, 26, killed in wrong-way crash on US-285
REEVES CO., TX – A Pharr man died Tuesday morning in a multi-vehicle collision along the highway in eastern Reeves County, reports YourBasin.
The accident happened shortly before 7 a.m. on the northbound side of US-285 near mile marker 362.
Police say that for unknown reasons, a southbound 2004 Ford Taurus entered the northbound side of US-285 and collided head-on with both 2018 and 2024 Chevrolet Silverados
The driver of the Ford, identified as 26-year-old Brandon Ruiz, died at the scene of the wreck.
Medics transported one of the other drivers to an area hospital with minor injuries.
The third driver did not sustain injuries in the crash.
A full investigation is underway.
