Martin Holguin Duran, 59, killed in Ector Co. wrong-way crash

ECTOR CO., TX – A 59-year-old man died Sunday in a two-vehicle collision involving a semi along the highway in east-central Ector County, reports YourBasin.

The accident happened shortly before 7:30 p.m. near mile marker 254 on Loop 338, which encircles the city of Odessa.

Police say that an eastbound Dodge Ram 1500 crashed head-on into a westbound 18-wheeler when the driver of the pickup attempted to pass another eastbound vehicle.

The wrong-way driver, identified as Martin A. Holguin Duran of Odessa, died at the scene of the wreck.

The 31-year-old truck driver did not sustain injuries in the crash.

A full investigation is underway.
