Oscar Gonzalez, 43, claimed in semi crash at CR77 and CR1258
SAN PATRICIO CO., TX – A collision involving a pickup truck and an 18-wheeler claimed the life of a 43-year-old Taft man Monday morning, reports KIII 3 News.
The accident occurred shortly after 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of County Road 77 and County Road 1258. This is just northeast of Taft and about 20 miles north of Corpus Christi.
Police say that a northbound 2015 Peterbilt semi-truck failed to yield the right of way at the intersection and struck a westbound 2015 GMC Sierra. The impact of the crash pushed both trucks off of the roadway.
The driver of the Sierra, identified as Oscar Gonzalez, died at the scene.
Medics transported the semi driver, identified as 33-year-old Anthony Luna of Odem, to an area hospital with unknown injuries.
There’s no word yet regarding charges.
