Samuel Majors, 64, struck, killed on Jack Kultgen Expressway
WACO, TX – A 64-year-old man sustained fatal injuries Tuesday morning when a vehicle struck him along the freeway in central Waco, reports KWTX 10.
The accident happened shortly before 6:30 p.m. on I-35, or the Jack Kultgen Expressway, near South 7th Street. This is just west of Baylor University.
Police say the victim attempted to cross the freeway outside of a designated pedestrian crosswalk when a vehicle hit him.
The pedestrian, identified as Samuel James Majors, died after transport to an area hospital.
The driver involved in the crash stopped to render aid and speak with authorities.
Drivers likely experienced a slow-down along I-35 in the area of the wreck while emergency teams worked at the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
