Jason Armstrong, 46, claimed in Amarillo ejection crash

AMARILLO, TX – A 46-year-old man sustained fatal injuries Thursday in a two-vehicle collision on the southwest side of Amarillo, reports Amarillo Globe-News.

The accident occurred shortly before 12:30 p.m. on Bell Street between Canyon Drive and Scotty Drive. This is north of TX-335, near Gene Howe Elementary School.

Police say that a southbound 2016 Dodge Charger collided with a 2020 Volkswagon Tiguan when the latter vehicle made a left turn onto Bell Street from a private drive.

The impact of the crash threw the unrestrained driver of the Tiguan, later identified as Jason Armstrong, from his vehicle. Armstrong died after transport to an area hospital.

The driver of the Charger did not sustain injuries in the wreck.

Officials closed Bell Street in the area of the accident while emergency teams worked at the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
