Nohomy and Haydee Hidalgo-Pinell killed in Sherman crash
SHERMAN, TX – Two people died, and four people sustained injuries Thursday in a two-vehicle collision along the highway in east-central Grayson County, reports KXII 12.
The incident occurred shortly after 12:30 p.m. on the southbound side of TX-11 at Nelson Road. This is in the southeastern outskirts of Sherman, about 65 miles north of Dallas.
Police say that a southbound Ford F-250 rear-ended a Toyota Camry when the driver of the latter vehicle slowed to make a left turn.
Medics transported three adults from the Camry — the driver and two passengers — to an area hospital with injuries of unknown severity. The driver of the pickup truck was also hospitalized with unspecified injuries.
Two additional passengers from the Camry succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Authorities identified them as 50-year-old Haydee Hidalgo-Pinell and 20-year-old Nohomy Sarai Hidalgo-Pinell.
No charges have been announced thus far.
A full investigation is underway.
