David Bergen, 32, killed in Gaines Co. motorcycle crash
GAINES CO., TX – A two-vehicle wreck claimed a motorcyclist from Seminole Tuesday morning in central Gaines County, reports Lubbock Avalanche-Journal.
The accident happened shortly before 7 a.m. at the intersection of County Road 307 and County Road 307, which is just southwest of Seminole and about 82 miles southwest of Lubbock.
Police say that the driver of a southbound 2021 Nissan Titan failed to yield right of way at the intersection and struck a northbound 2014 Yamaha XVS650 while making a left turn.
The impact of the collision threw the motorcyclist from his bike. The victim, later identified as 65-year-old Gilbert Mandel Ochoa, died after transport to an area hospital.
No other injuries have been reported in connection to the accident.
A full investigation is underway.
