Cavione Marice Ranson, 34, claimed in SE Austin moped crash

AUSTIN, TX- A 34-year-old man died Tuesday in a rush-hour collision along a major roadway in central Travis County, reports KXAN.

Police and medics responded to the area of 500 South Pleasant Valley Road in southeast Austin around 5 p.m. This is near the bridge over Lady Bird Lake and the Krieg Softball Complex.

Authorities are still determining the cause and circumstances of the wreck, which they say involved a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle.

The motorcycle operator, identified as Cavione Marice Ranson, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The driver of the passenger vehicle did not sustain injuries in the accident.

Motorists likely experienced significant delays along Pleasant Valley south of the river while emergency crews gathered evidence and worked to clear the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
