Ruby Underwood, 29, claimed in San Antonio motorcycle collision
SAN ANTONIO, TX – A 29-year-old motorcyclist died Sunday morning in a multi-vehicle crash along the highway in west San Antonio, reports MYSA.
The chain-reaction accident occurred shortly before 12:30 a.m. in the area of Highway 90 and Southwest 36th Street. This is just northeast of Lackland Air Force Base.
Police say that a vehicle carrying two people caused a chain-reaction collision involving four motorcycles. The victim, identified as Ruby Underwood, sustained fatal injuries when her bike hit another downed bike. Underwood was ejected and died at the scene.
Three other motorcyclists were also struck in the accident. It’s unclear if any of them required hospitalization for injuries sustained in the crash.
The two occupants of the vehicle that caused the collision fled the scene on foot. Authorities located the suspects but have not announced any charges thus far.
A full investigation is underway.
