Children injured in auto-pedestrian crash on W Plano Pkwy
PLANO, TX – Emergency teams responded to an auto-pedestrian accident involving two children in Plano on Tuesday, reports NBC DFW 5.
The incident occurred around 4:15 p.m. in the area of Accent Drive and West Plano Parkway, which is west of US-75 and just south of Collin Creek Mall.
Police say that two kids were crossing the street in the intersection when the driver of a westbound vehicle failed to heed a red light and struck the kids.
Medics transported the juvenile pedestrians to an area hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the accident did stop to render aid and to speak with authorities.
Officials closed the intersection while crews assisted the victims and worked to clear the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
