Nicholas Winfield Smith, 43, killed in Schertz motorcycle accident

SCHERTZ, TX – A 43-year-old man sustained fatal injuries last Wednesday in a motorcycle crash along the interstate in west-central Guadalupe County, reports KSAT News 12.

The fatal accident occurred shortly after 7:30 p.m. along I-35 at FM 3009 on the north side of Schertz. This is about 22 miles northeast of San Antonio.

Police say that a Harker Heights motorcyclist, identified as 43-year-old Nicholas Winfield Smith, was found in the roadway after a crash and that he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Officials haven’t determined the cause of the collision, nor have they specified if other vehicles were involved.

Motorists likely encountered delays along the interstate near FM 3009 last Wednesday night while emergency crews worked at the scene.
