Regina Ramirez, Alejandro Robledo Jr. killed in rear-end crash
SAN ANTONIO, TX – Two adults died last Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision along the interstate in south-central San Antonio, reports KSAT 12.
Shortly before 2 p.m., police and medics responded to a rear-end collision on the eastbound side of Southeast Loop 410 near Moursund Boulevard. This is just northeast of Ballasetal Lake.
Officials say that the driver of an eastbound 2014 Chevrolet Silverado failed to reduce speed in a construction zone and struck the rear of another vehicle.
Two people from the vehicle in front succumbed to their injuries at the scene of the crash. Authorities identified them as 51-year-old Regina Ramirez and 54-year-old Alejandro Robledo Jr.
The 22-year-old driver of the pickup truck sustained minor injuries when his vehicle overturned following the collision. It’s unclear if he will face charges.
Officials closed the eastbound side of Loop 410 in the area of the crash until around 5 p.m. while crews gathered evidence and worked to clear the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
