Car strikes, kills Ramona Pavlas, 59, at Taylor intersection

TAYLOR, TX – A woman sustained fatal injuries Thursday afternoon when a vehicle struck her at a busy intersection on the far north side of Taylor, reports Fox 7 Austin.

Police responded to the fatal collision shortly after 4 p.m. in the area of North Main Street and Carlos G Parker Boulevard Northwest, which is just southeast of Taylor Regional Park and Sports Complex.

Officials say that 59-year-old Ramona Pavlas was crossing at the intersection on a mobility scooter when a black 2013 Subaru hit her. The 22-year-old driver of the Subaru, police say, failed to yield right of way at the intersection.

Pavlas succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the accident.

It’s unclear if the driver of the Subaru will face charges in connection to the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
