T-bone crash at US-69 and FM 2016 in Tyler injures 4

TYLER, TX – Several people were hurt early last week in a two-vehicle collision along the highway in central Smith County, reports El Paso Inc.

The incident occurred shortly before noon on Tuesday, June 10th, at the intersection of US-69 and FM 2016, which is north of Black Fork Creek and on the northern outskirts of Tyler.

Police say that a northbound sedan and a southbound SUV collided when the driver of the former vehicle made a left turn onto FM 2016.

Medics transported one person from the car and three people from the SUV to an area hospital. The driver of the sedan sustained life-threatening injuries. All other injuries were considered non-critical.

Officials closed multiple lanes of the highway Tuesday afternoon while emergency crews helped the victims and worked to clear the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
