Anna Police investigate fatality collision involving SUV, work truck
ANNA, TX – A two-vehicle crash involving a work truck killed one person and injured several others Friday night in northeast Collin County, reports WFAA News 8.
The accident occurred shortly before 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of County Road 513 and FM 2862 on the far eastern outskirts of Anna, which is about 47 miles northeast of Dallas.
The initial investigation indicates that a southbound equipment truck struck a Cadillac SUV when the driver of the latter vehicle failed to heed the truck’s right of way and turned from Country Road 513 onto FM 2862.
The impact of the crash pushed both vehicles off of the roadway, and the SUV struck a power pole.
Authorities declared the driver of the Cadillac deceased at the scene. The victim’s name has not yet been released to the public.
Medics transported three passengers from the SUV, one in critical condition, to an area hospital.
The driver of the work truck did not sustain injuries in the collision.
The investigation is ongoing.
