Edward Walker, 63, claimed in N Austin auto-ped. collision

AUSTIN, TX – Austin Police have identified the man who died this past Saturday when two vehicles struck him along the interstate in north Austin, reports CBS Austin.

Crews responded to an auto-pedestrian crash on the northbound service road of I-35 between West Parmer Lane and Center Ridge Drive around 12:30 a.m. This is near Scofield Farms and Tech Ridge.

Authorities say that Edward Walker was walking on or around the service road when he was hit first by a pickup truck and then by a sedan. Walker succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident.

Neither driver appeared to be intoxicated, and both remained at the scene to render aid and speak with police.

Drivers likely encountered substantial delays early Saturday along the northbound service road to I-35 while emergency crews gathered evidence and worked at the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
