Hidekel Cornelio claimed in Chapel Hill ejection crash on TX-64
CHAPEL HILL, TX – A 26-year-old FedEx driver died following a collision along the highway in Smith County last Tuesday, reports KLTV 7.
The fatal incident occurred the afternoon of Tuesday, July 8, on TX-64 near Chapel Hill. Officials haven’t provided a cross street or mile marker for the crash. Chapel Hill is about seven miles southeast of Tyler.
Police say that Hidekel “E.D.” Cornelio was completing a FedEx delivery when the accident happened. At least two vehicles were involved, and at least one person was thrown from their vehicle.
At this time, it’s unclear if Cornelio was outside of their delivery truck when the crash occurred, or if they were ejected when a vehicle struck their truck.
Authorities say Cornelio sustained fatal injuries in the crash.
It’s unclear if anyone else was hurt in the accident. Officials haven’t shared any details about the other parties involved in the collision.
The investigation is ongoing.
