Crash on TX-78 near CR 2510 kills Nancy Malone, 85

FANNIN CO., TX – An elderly woman sustained fatal injuries last Saturday in a two-vehicle collision involving a semi in northwest Fannin County.

According to KXII 12, the accident occurred sometime in the morning on the northbound side of TX-78 near County Road 2510, which is just north of Bonham and about an hour northeast of Plano.

Police say that the victim struck the rear of an 18-wheeler while performing a U-turn on the highway.

The driver of the passenger vehicle, identified as 85-year-old Nancy Malone, died at the scene of the crash.

Medics transported the 57-year-old truck driver to an area hospital with injuries of unknown severity.

The collision likely caused delays along TX-78 north of Bonham while emergency crews assisted the victims and worked to clear the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
