Eric Brady, 42, fatally injured in Wise Co. crash on US-287

WISE CO., TX – An Alvord man died last Tuesday in a two-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck along the highway in north-central Wise County, reports The Messenger.

The accident occurred shortly before 2 a.m. on the northbound side of US-287 just north of CR 2395. This is just south of the city of Alvord, about 50 miles northwest of Fort Worth, and immediately north of the Shady Oaks RV Park.

Police say that the northbound driver of a 2000 Chrevrolet Silverado struck the rear of a semi after failing to decelerate for the 18-wheeler as it slowed to make a turn.

The unrestrained driver of the Chevy became entrapped in the vehicle and ultimately succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash. Authorities identified the victim as 42-year-old Eric Brady.

The driver of the semi did not sustain injuries in the collision.

A full investigation is underway.
