Motorcycle vs. pickup truck crash on SW Fwy kills Houston man
HOUSTON, TX – A collision involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle claimed one life Thursday morning along the freeway in southwest Houston, reports abc 13 News.
Shortly before 10:30 a.m., emergency crews responded to the northbound service road of the Southwest Freeway between Bellaire Boulevard and Hillcroft Avenue. This is east of Sharpstown Park and northwest of Bayland Park.
Police say that a northbound green Kawasaki motorcycle struck a northbound Ford F150 pickup truck when the driver of the latter vehicle turned into the path of the bike.
The 27-year-old motorcyclist died after transport to an area hospital; authorities have not yet disclosed the victim’s name.
It’s unclear if the driver of the pickup truck sustained injuries, and officials haven’t referenced any charges in connection to the crash thus far.
Authorities urged drivers to avoid the northbound service road of I-69 in the Bellaire area while emergency teams worked at the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
