Timothy Herrera Jr., 1 other killed in crash near Springtown
PARKER CO., TX – Two men died Monday morning in a wrong-way collision along FM 51 in northeast Parker County, reports Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
The two-vehicle crash happened shortly after 6 a.m., south of Veal Station Road and between Springtown and Carter. This is about 15 miles northeast of Weatherford.
Police say that a northbound 2020 Honda Accord carrying three people lost traction on the wet roadway, entered the southbound side of FM 51, and collided with a southbound 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander.
The driver of the sedan, identified as Timothy Lee Herrera Jr., died at the scene of the accident, as did the front passenger, identified as 22-year-old Preston Duffy.
Medics transported the driver of the SUV and the rear passenger from the sedan to an area hospital with critical injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
