Truck runs light in SW Houston, fatally strikes Martha Carrillo

HOUSTON, TX – An elderly woman sustained fatal injuries this past weekend in an auto-pedestrian crash in southwest Houston, reports KDH news.

Emergency crews responded Saturday night to a hit-and-run accident along Beechnut Street between South Gessner Road and I-69, or the Southwest Freeway. This is just southwest of Houston Christian University.

Police say that the driver of a silver truck failed to heed a stop sign before hitting both a pedestrian and a second vehicle.

The pedestrian, identified as Martha Carrillo, died at the scene of the accident.

The driver involved in the accident did not stop to render aid or to speak with authorities.

No other injuries have been announced at this time,.

A full investigation is underway.
