Solo rollover at US-77 and TX-89 claims Hilda Montes, 74

SINTON, TX – An elderly woman sustained fatal injuries early last Monday in a single-vehicle crash along the highway in north-central San Patricio County, reports KIIITV 3 News.

The accident occurred shortly before 1 a.m. near the intersection of US-77 and TX-89 on the far north side of Stinton, which is about 30 minutes northwest of Corpus Christi.

Police say that for unknown reasons, the 79-year-old driver of a southbound Honda Accord lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway before hitting a sign and overturning.

Authorities declared a 74-year-old female passenger deceased at the scene, identifying her as Hilda Montes .

Medics transported two child passengers to an area hospital with injuries of unknown severity.

It’s unclear if the driver of the Honda sustained injuries.

A full investigation is underway.
