Juan Nunez-Quiroz, Tyson Avery killed in W Odessa collision
ODESSA, TX – Two men died, and four people sustained injuries Friday night in a two-vehicle collision in West Odessa, reports NewsWest 9.
The accident occurred shortly before 10 p.m. at the intersection of West University Boulevard and North Knox Avenue, which is just northeast of Diamond Event Center.
Police say that a 2012 GMC Yukon travelling on University struck a southbound 2019 Chevrolet 2500 when the driver of the latter vehicle ran a stop sign.
The driver of the Chevy, identified as 61-year-old Juan Manuel Nunez-Quiroz, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
An adult passenger in the GMC, identified as 32-year-old Tyson Cooper Avery, also died at the scene of the crash.
Medics transported the driver of the GMC and three children to an area hospital with non-critical injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
