Marcus Gentry, 44, claimed in crash at Dixie Blvd, Pool Rd
ODESSA, TX – A 44-year-old man sustained fatal injuries Saturday night in a two-vehicle collision on the southeast side of Odessa, reports NewsWest 9.
The accident occurred shortly before 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of South Dixie Boulevard and East Pool Road, which is near I-20 and northeast of Comanche Trail South Park.
Police say that a northbound Jeep struck a westbound Dodge 3500 when the driver of the latter vehicle failed to heed a stop sign at the intersection.
The collision pushed the Dodge off of the roadway, causing it to overturn. The driver of the Dodge, identified as Marcus Gentry, was thrown from the vehicle.
Gentry succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Medics transported a passenger from the Dodge to an area hospital with non-critical injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
