Howard Jessie charged in hit-and-run at Front St, Bruck Ave

TYLER, TX – Tyler Police arrested a 49-year-old man in connection to a hit-and-run crash that injured two teens on Friday night, reports CBS 19.

The accident happened shortly before 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of West Front Street and South Bruck Avenue, which is just northwest of Tyler Rose Garden.

Authorities haven’t shared any details regarding the circumstances of the collision except to say that a 13-year-old and an 18-year-old required hospitalization.

It’s unclear if the teens were riding in a second vehicle when the accident occurred, or if they were walking near the intersection.

An adult driver involved in the incident did not stop to render aid. Police identified him as Howard Jessie.

Jessie was arrested about 45 minutes after the accident on charges of collision involving injury.

At this time, there’s no word regarding the conditions of the two injured teens.

A full investigation is underway.
