Xzaiver Aldaym fatally hurt in collision on Gulfgate Bridge
PORT ARTHUR, TX – A wrong-way crash along the highway in east-central Jefferson County claimed the life of an 18-year-old man on Saturday, reports 12 News Now.
The accident occurred in the afternoon along TX-82 at the Gulfgate Bridge, which is just northwest of Riverfront Park in Port Arthur.
Police haven’t yet assigned fault for the crash. They say that two vehicles, each carrying one person, collided head on.
One of the drivers, identified as Xzaiver Aldaym, succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the collision.
Medics transported the other driver to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officials closed the Gulfgate Bridge while emergency crews gathered evidence and worked to clear the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
