Solo crash on FM945 S claims Trooper Jerry Adamick Jr.
SAN JACINTO CO., TX – A DPS Trooper died Monday night in a single-vehicle collision in southwestern San Jacinto County, reports KTSM 9.
The accident occurred south of Coldspring, where the trooper was stationed, around 9:15 p.m. on FM 945 Road South. Officials have not provided a cross street for the crash.
A preliminary investigation indicates that DPS Trooper Jerry Wayne Adamick Jr. was responding to an emergency call when he lost control of his cruiser, left FM 945 Road South, and crashed into a tree. The vehicle then ignited, and Adamick Jr. succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
There were no passengers in the cruiser at the time of the accident, and it’s unclear what may have caused Adamick Jr. to lose control of his vehicle.
A full investigation is underway. Our team of news writers will post updates to the blog if we learn more about the circumstances of the accident.
