Collision near FM 933, FM 1713 proves fatal for Eugene Aleshire
HILL CO., TX – An elderly man died Tuesday evening from injuries sustained in a wrong-way collision in west-central Hill County, reports KXXV 25.
The accident happened shortly after 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of FM 933 and FM 1713, which is near Whitney and approximately 65 miles south of Fort Worth.
Police say that for unknown reasons, a northbound Toyota RAV 4 entered the southbound side of FM 933 and crashed head on into a southbound GMC Sierra.
The wrong-way driver, identified as Eugene Aleshire, died after transport to an area hospital.
The driver of the GMC Sierra was hospitalized with injuries of unknown severity.
The crash likely caused delays along FM 933 near Whitney while emergency crews worked at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
