Craig West, 62, claimed in Baffin Bay boating accident

KLEBERG CO., TX – A 62-year-old man sustained fatal injuries Saturday in a boating accident between Kleberg and Kenedy Counties, reports KIITV 3 News.

Shortly after 6 a.m., emergency crews responded to a serious boat crash in Baffin Bay, which is just west of Padre Island and approximately 70 miles south of Corpus Christi.

Officials haven’t yet shared any details about the accident except to say that a boat collided with a pier.

One person died in the crash. Authorities have identified the victim as Craig West of Rivera.

There’s no word yet regarding the cause of the collision, nor is it clear if anyone else sustained injuries.
