Mark Poirier of Moody claimed in Temple pedestrian crash
TEMPLE, TX – A 61-year-old man died Tuesday in an auto-pedestrian accident along the highway in north-central Bell County, reports KWTX 10.
Shortly before 6 a.m., emergency crews responded to TX-36 between Moffat Road and Cedar Ridge Park Road on the northwestern outskirts of Temple, about 35 miles southwest of Waco.
Police say that a vehicle struck and fatally injured a male pedestrian, who has since been identified as Mark Poirier of Moody. It’s unclear if Poirier was standing along the shoulder or in a lane of travel when the crash occurred.
The driver involved in the accident stopped to render aid and to speak with authorities.
No charges have been announced thus far.
A full investigation is underway.
