Miguel Ramirez Jr. killed in Georgetown auto-pedestrian crash
GEORGETOWN, TX – Police have charged a 24-year-old man in connection to a fatal pedestrian accident that happened Sunday in central Williamson County, reports CBS Austin.
The collision occurred Sunday at Westinghouse Road and Kelley Drive in Georgetown, which is approximately 28 miles northeast of Austin.
The investigation indicates that Miguel Ramirez Jr. was intoxicated when his southbound Ford Escape rear-ended a utility truck. This initial crash caused the truck to hit a third vehicle along with three pedestrian workers.
One of the workers, identified as Miguel Ramirez Jr. sustained fatal injuries.
Medics transported the other two workers to an area hospital with injuries of unknown severity.
Police charged Ramirez with intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault.
Authorities are still looking for a passenger from the Ford, who left the scene on foot.
The investigation is ongoing.
