Juan Garcia Gil killed in truck accident on E Plano Pkwy in Plano

PLANO, TX – A single-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck claimed the life of a 55-year-old La Porte man on Monday in Collin County, reports WFAA News 8.

The accident happened shortly before 1 a.m. at the intersection of East Plano Parkway and K Avenue in the Malaby area of Plano.

Police say that a driver lost control of his westbound 18-wheeler during a probable medical episode, left the roadway, and crashed into a sign.

The truck driver, identified as Juan Felix Garcia Gil, succumbed to his injuries after transport to an area hospital.

There were no other passengers in the semi at the time of the collision.

A full investigation is underway.
