Craig Long killed when SUV hits empty semi near Canyon, Moss
AMARILLO, TX – A 65-year-old man died two days prior to Thanksgiving in a collision involving a parked 18-wheeler in north-central Randall County, reports News Channel 10.
The accident occurred shortly after 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Canyon Drive and Moss Lane in Amarillo. This is just north of I-27 and northwest of Tradewind Airport.
Police say that for unknown reasons, the driver of a southbound Chevy Tahoe lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway, and crashed into an unoccupied semi-truck.
The driver of the Tahoe, identified as Craig Steven Long, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
No other injuries have been referenced in connection to the wreck.
A full investigation is underway.
