Rear-end crash at FM 1936 and TX-302 claims Nicholas Olivas

ODESSA, TX – A Denver City teen sustained fatal injuries Monday in a rear-end collision involving a semi-truck in east-central Ector County, reports First Alert 7.

Around 7:30 p.m., a two-vehicle crash involving an 18-wheeler prompted an emergency response at FM 1936 and TX-302 in northwest Odessa.

Police say that a westbound GMC Sierra collided with the rear of an 18-wheeler that was stopped at a yield sign near the intersection.

The driver of the pickup truck, identified as 19-year-old Nicholas Caro Olivas, died after transport to an area hospital.

The truck driver did not sustain injuries in the crash.

A full investigation is underway.
