John Lamb killed in 2-car crash on US-79 near Palestine

ANDERSON CO., TX – A collision that happened Wednesday along the highway in central Anderson County claimed the life of a former Palestine ISD teacher.

According to CBS 19, the accident occurred in the evening on US-79 near County Road 367, which is just northeast of Palestine and around two hours southeast of Dallas.

Police say that a Scion hatchback facing south turned left from the shoulder of the highway into the path of a northbound a Ford pickup truck.

The driver of the Scion, identified as John Lamb, sustained fatal injuries in the subsequent collision.

Medics transported a passenger from the Scion to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

It’s unclear if anyone in the pickup truck was hurt.

A full investigation is underway.
