Motorcycle rear-ends pickup in Midland, injuring Saul Olvera

MIDLAND, TX – A 46-year-old motorcyclist died last week in a two-vehicle collision along a major roadway on the south side of Midland.

According to First Alert 7, the accident occurred Friday at the intersection of West Florida Avenue and South Marienfeld Street in the Midland Heights area.

Police say that Saul Montes Olvera was likely speeding when he lost control of his eastbound 2006 Honda CBR 600 and collided with the rear of a 2012 Toyota Tundra. The pickup truck was stopped in the left turn lane at the time of the accident.

Medics transported the Olvera to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

No other injuries have been referenced in connection to the crash.

A full investigation is underway.
